First Alert Weather Day: Chance for winter mix, extended hard freeze Friday night through Saturday
A weak storm system brings rain to East Texas midweek, but right on its heels is a stronger storm system bringing in a surge of arctic air. Rain from this week’s first cold front will be Wednesday into early Thursday, but will likely end during the day Thursday.
A winter storm is expected across the South and Southeast late week and into the weekend. There is a lot of wiggle room here, but check back with us frequently to see if your area could be impacted.
For the workweek, we'll have cool highs in the 50s and chilly morning lows in the 30s and 40s. The much colder air looks to hold off until the weekend. Dress warm! Lows Monday morning will be right around freezing for all of North Texas.
A wintry mix and freezing temperatures are forecast in Southeast Texas from Saturday night to Monday, prompting a Weather Impact Alert for the Lakes Area.
